National Picnic Month

7/26/2019 (Permalink)

The month of July is known as national picnic month. As much as it is fun to spend time with family and friends there is some tips to be safe while being outside.  The most important thing if you plan on staying outside is to be hydrated. So, make sure to bring plenty of water at any picnic you attend. If a picnic is planed during peak of the summer heat, try to stay in shaded areas. Just following these first two tips can prevent heat exhausted or heat stroke. If by chance anyone is showing signs of heath exhausted (i.e. faint, sweaty, nauseous and etc.) please head to an air-conditioned location, drink water and take a cold shower if possible or use cold compresses. If you have any symptoms of heat stroke (i.e. fever, throbbing headache and etc.) please seek medical assistance. Please remember the time perishable food can be left outside the refrigerator or freezer drops from two hours to one hour in temperatures that are above 90 degrees. Most importantly SERVPRO of Thousand Oaks wishes your family a safe rest of the summer.
