It is best to not use the stove or stovetop if your sleepy or under the influence of alcohol. If you are frying, grilling, or broiling food it is advised you stay in the kitchen until the stove is turned off. It is advised if you must leave the kitchen even for a short period of time you should turn off the stove. Check on your food regularly if you are simmering, baking, or roasting food. It is best to stay in the home while food cooking and recommended to use a timer to remind you that you are cooking. Make sure to keep anything flammable like mitts, wooden utensils, food packaging, towels, or curtains away from your stovetop. Kids should be at least 3 feet away from hot food or drinks being prepared.
